Unexplained infertility

This means:

• The woman's eggs are being released regularly (ovulation is normal).
• The fallopian tubes are open.
• The uterus looks healthy.
• The man's sperm test is normal.

Even though everything appears normal, pregnancy is still not happening. This does not mean that pregnancy is impossible. It simply means that the exact reason cannot be found with the tests we have today.

Can pregnancy still happen?

Yes. Many couples with unexplained infertility become pregnant naturally or with fertility treatment.

What are the treatment options?

Depending on your age and how long you have been trying, your doctor may suggest:

• Trying naturally for a little longer.
• Medicines to help improve the chances of pregnancy.
• IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), where specially prepared sperm is placed inside the uterus.
• IVF (Test Tube Baby) if other treatments are not successful.
